In September of 2011, my husband got me tickets for my birthday to what would be the final showdown between the Cubs and Cardinals for the season. It would become the game that Tony LaRussa would later call “the defining game that turned around our season” and the starting point of what would eventually be an exhilarating post season.
It wasn’t of game 6 legendary proportions, but watching the Cardinals destroy the Cubs 1-0 in the 9th inning was the perfect birthday gift.
Memories like this aren’t hard to come by in that amazing stadium where championships are won. Share your favorite Cardinals game memory in the comments, and you could win 2 tickets to a Saturday game!
